Keeping information safe and sound typically takes a backseat for most people, until it’s too late, either from actual theft or lost laptops/usb drives. I always encourage the people I know in implementing some system of data encryption. With the growing trend of people owning more laptops, it is definitely easier to lose it or get it stolen, along with most of your sensitive and sometimes embarassing data you won’t want someone else gaining access to.
