P90X: Week 03/13 | It Starts With Ken

Day 15: Didn’t feel like 100% today. Felt like the lack of sleep affected my performance.

Day 16: Received some bad news today! Went in to see the Dr. to get some blood work test results (that was planned early on in my preparation for the program) and my liver results are off the charts. I did some further research and it seems like extreme workouts and high protein diets tend to elevate your enzymes as your body is breaking down muscle and fat cells. This may put the brakes on the program but I don’t want to quit P90X just yet so I’m limiting my protein intake. Hopefully, the elevation is just due to my 7 day workouts and this prescription medication that I was taking (and temporarily off until the second round of tests can confirm it’s the diet/exercise combo).

Day 17: I’m hearing from other people now that you’re supposed to transition into P90X from other exercise routines. I wasn’t aware of that and just jumped straight right in. Maybe that’s why my liver doesn’t like me. Although, everything else on my blood panel suggests I am in excellent health. Still working hard and doing my best. I’m not giving up easily!

Day 18: Last week Yoga seemed somewhat relatively easier. Today seemed different and a whole lot harder.I think it may have something to do with the warmer weather.

Day 19: Sometimes fitting in a 90-120 minute workout in a day seems tougher than some days.

Day 20: It’s “Sore Glutes Friday”! All that lower body workout yesterday still kills me the next day.

Day 21: It’s rest day again, although I’ll be spending the entire day in simulated catastrophes/disasters crawling in dirt and collapsed buildings for my last day in CERT training.

3 weeks down and 1 week left before the first phase is over. It also means in 1 week’s time it’ll be time for a weigh in and a check in on the numbers. I’m positive I’ve shed some fat in the last three weeks and gained some muscle mass. I’ll definitely be posting some numbers next week, whether good or bad.
