I quickly ran through a wide range of emotions; from shock, to bewilderment, to… literally spewing my shake on my computer monitor. This must have been a mistake.
I ordered a new piece of plastic from my lovely Bank of America because my previous card contained an outdated image that reminded me too much of my college years. I thought nothing of it, expecting to receive a vanilla version in the mail a few days later.
Imagine the surprise I got when I received the news in the mail!
Congratulations! Thank for you contacting Bank of America. Enclosed you’ll find your credit card replacement. Please call the number below to activate it…
I quickly call the bank, and explain to the other person on the line that they’ve made a stupid mistake.
I knew this was going to cause a chuckle:
You guys made a mistake. There’s a photo in front of the card. And it’s the wrong person. It’s a photo of a baby. And I don’t have a baby.
The helpful person quickly dispatches a new one in the mail, offering a quick apology and rationalization that,
This has never happened before.
Fast forward another week, and I receive my second replacement. Was that the end of the story? Nooo!!! It’s the same card. With the same. Asian. Baby. In blue clothes!
At this point I thought this must have been meant to be.
So, I NEED your help. Help me name this baby. So at least the next time I whip it out to pay for something, instead of prefacing the transaction with,
Yes, he’s very cute but no, that is not my baby. The gods that be made the mistake of printing him on my credit card…
I can just go with the conversational flow and actually talk about the junior with a proper name. Share your thoughts and baby boy names in the comments below!
